When most people see a 1500W ceiling heater, they just think, “Great, I won’t freeze when I step out of the shower.” But we look at it differently. We didn’t just build these to make the air feel cozy. We used infrared (IR) tech to tackle a much nastier problem: mold.
Why “Warm Air” Isn’t Enough
Here is the thing about standard heaters. They warm up the air, but that often leaves your walls cold. When warm, moist air hits a cold tile, you get condensation. That’s basically a welcome mat for mold. Our heaters do something different. Instead of fighting the air, they send energy directly into your tiles, grout, and shower curtains. It’s like the difference between standing in a warm breeze and feeling the actual sun on your skin. By keeping those surfaces warm, water can’t pool up. It just evaporates. No standing water, no mold. Simple as that.
The Sweet Spot: 1500W
We spent a lot of time figuring out the power. 1500W is the “just right” number. If we went lower, the surfaces wouldn’t dry fast enough after you finished your shower. But if we pushed it higher? You’d be risking a tripped circuit breaker or an overheating ceiling. Nobody wants that. We also use quartz envelopes for the lamps. It sounds fancy, but it just means the heat passes right through the glass instead of getting trapped in the housing. The energy goes where it belongs—on your walls.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
You can’t just toss these anywhere. Since infrared travels in a straight line, placement is everything. If you put it in the wrong spot, you’ll end up with “cold spots” where moisture still hangs around. And a quick heads-up for the install: these lamps get hot. Really hot. You’ve got to use high-temperature wiring. Using cheap cables is a recipe for melted insulation, and that’s a headache you definitely don’t need.
