The trade-off Now, this kind of speed comes with a catch: heat density. When a tube jumps from 0 to 100% in a heartbeat, it puts a lot of stress on the quartz. That’s why your airflow has to be spot on. If your fans aren’t moving that heat away from the tube fast enough, you’re going to burn them out. To make this work long-term, we pair these tubes with high-frequency SSRs (Solid State Relays). Since there are no moving parts to wear out, they can handle the constant rapid-fire switching without breaking a sweat.
