Stop Overpaying for Your PET Oven Lamps

It feels like you’re paying a premium just for the brand name on the box, while your maintenance budget takes the hit. We’ve got a better way. We make drop-in replacement IR lamps that do exactly what the factory ones do, but they don’t cost nearly as much to run. Let’s talk about the heat. These lamps have to move fast. They use high wattage and high voltage to get those PET preforms ready in a heartbeat. The trick is the shortwave infrared radiation—it punches straight through the plastic wall instead of wasting energy heating up the air around it. But you have to be careful. The voltage and wattage need to be spot on. If they’re off, you’re either under-heating or, worse, scorching the plastic. And if you crank the wattage without speeding up your conveyor? You’ll fry the base of your preforms. It’s a delicate balance. Built to actually last We use heavy-wall quartz glass. Why? Because cheap glass bows when it gets hot, and that ruins everything. We also use a halogen cycle inside the tube. This stops the tungsten filament from evaporating too quickly, meaning your heat stays steady over thousands of cycles. No drifting, no surprises. As for the fit, we use R7s or Sk15 connectors. We keep the tolerances tight so they just… slide in. No forcing, no fighting with the socket. That’s how you avoid those nasty arc-overs at the terminals. Getting them on the floor The best part? You don’t have to touch your PLC settings or mess around with the wiring. You just swap them out and go. One quick tip from experience:Keep your reflectors polished. These lamps pack a massive amount of heat into a tiny space. If your reflectors are dirty, the lamp has to work twice as hard to get the preform to the right temperature. That kills the filament way faster than it should. Whenever you swap a lamp, take a second to check the alignment and wipe down the reflector. It’s a small habit, but it makes your quartz last a lot longer.
